I’ve spent a lifetime understanding wellness - finding approaches that work and examining what hasn’t. My wellness journey not only led me to be a 500-hour yoga Instructor, 500-hour Ayurvedic Yoga Instructor, and graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, it offered me a window to see and understand your wellness goals and struggles – because I’ve been there too, physically, emotionally and mentally.
A wellness journey begins by reflecting on where you've come from, where you are and where you want to go. Observations, without judgment, guide you forward. It's never too late to live a balanced and joyful life, one sustainable step at a time.
I never imagined it would take nearly a lifetime to feel soulfully aligned, but it did, and that’s o.k.
In childhood, my family focused on healthy and nutritious food harvested from the family garden and purchased from local farms. This all changed when my mother returned to work, and she succumbed to the convenience of packaged and processed food. My body never felt right after that. I eventually figured out that a diet with clean foods, delicious taste, and nutritional value were critical components to living a healthy lifestyle.
Later in life, married with two young children, and despite a healthy diet, I experienced bloating, indigestion, and IBS. This is where my wellness journey really began. Contemporary wisdom said that foods filled with whole grains were a key element to health, yet when tracking my own symptoms, I found that I felt sick when I ate grains. Experimenting, I eliminated gluten and wheat, proving to be the answer to better health for me.
In my 40’s and early 50’s I became entrenched managing teenage children along with a demanding, unfulfilling profession, leading to burn out and exhaustion. For the first time in my life I had to acknowledge that my wellness included not only my physical health, but my mental health. A painful but needed period of personal growth and self-discovery followed.
Sometimes a defining moment clears the path and shows you the way.
In 2016, my mother suddenly collapsed at home and died three weeks later of undiagnosed lung and brain cancer. In days, I became a caregiver for my father, all while managing my own chaotic life and family. I desperately needed a sense of peace and I found it on a yoga mat. Slowly, the comfort and safety of the practice created unconscious change. Yoga guided me to permanently change my profession and take a hard look at the relationships in my life, including the one I had with myself.
A journey of self-discovery brings results.
While studying Yoga, I began vision boarding and learning the art of setting intentions and manifesting change which led me to become a vision board facilitator. Guiding women in reflective awareness and manifesting change is immensely rewarding. I also embarked embarked on an adventure by hiking Peru’s Salkantay trail, toward Machu Picchu. I crossed new physical boundaries, challenged limiting beliefs and found spiritual guidance. The trek changed my life. Soon after I began to explore and study the ancient modality of Ayurveda, a proactive approach to dis-ease and optimal health.
I am guided to support individuals in feeling their most vibrant self. To clear blockages and explore what keeps them stuck. To discover tools that help them lead life more balanced and joyful. I offer private yoga and in classroom teachings, sessions in Ayurvedic health practices and holistic wellness coaching. I also facilitate a deep heart -centered vision boarding processes and meditation programs.
